Overlooking the stunning Vale of Clwyd the historic market town of Denbigh has more listed buildings than any other town in Wales with a 13C castle at the top of the hill. All these gardens sit within the ancient town walls.
The Drovers Arms is where the Welsh Drovers would stop for ale on the way to London, and the Drovers Cottage is the converted Cattle Barn next door. Both gardeners are members of the Rhewl Gardening Club and have enjoyed creating their gardens over many years.
Here are three town gardens of different styles. Llys Allen is an ex farmhouse and its cottage garden, fruit trees, water feature and hidden areas gives it a lovely atmosphere. Next door the garden at Tryfan has been designed by a busy family to keep work to a minimum.
