An exhibition of historical costumes based on research about 6 women who were involved in nursing at The Workhouse. The Workhouse is delighted to be working with South Essex College of Further & Higher Education again in 2019. This year the students are creating costumes around the nursing community at The Workhouse.
This Workhouse exhibition is linked with the National Trust programme and is an exciting opportunity to see conservation in action focusing on how and why we conserve our wallpaper. There are numerous wallpaper samples both in the main Workhouse building and in the newly conserved Firbeck Infirmary.
