Ewelme Watercress Beds and Local Nature Reserve Open Afternoon

Come and explore the upper and lower sites of the nature reserve. Knowledgable guides available to take you round or enjoy a self guided walk. A DVD of the old watercress industry will be shown in the Centre during the afternoon. Photo, and tools display. TEAS will be served inside or besides the brook. The once thriving watercress beds were constructed in the 1880s but became derelict after they ceased operation in 1989. The site, owned by the Chiltern Society is managed by volunteers for heritage, wildlife and landscape. Watercress is not for sale. No dogs allowed, (except guide dogs). Sensible shoes advised.

Come any time from 2-5pm. The Centre is located half way along The Street between the pub and the village hall. Please park away from the Centre as The Street gets congested. Adults £3 (accompanied children free). Ewelme is also on the 132 bus route (Green Lane stop).
