Rachmaninoff Vespers
This is a Past Event and has been Archived.
All the power and intensity of the Russian master Rachmaninoff, brought to Goring by the Reading Bach Choir. This piece has been praised as "the greatest musical achievement of the Russian Orthodox Church". It was one of Rachmaninov's favourite compositions and he requested that the fifth movement be sung at his funeral. Often performed by candle-light, these vespers are really a setting of the Eastern Orthodox all-night vigil but Vespers in our culture are the evening prayer service and this performance is at 6.30 p.m.
6.30 p.m £10, concessions £8, NUS with card £6, under 16 £5 Phone 0118 9470104 or E-mail tickets@readingbachchoir.org
