Road for the Future: Artist’s Talk

Anna Best's illustrated talk will be about the Road for the Future project she is leading at Powerstock Common and how it supports her work as an artist in a rural area. In her art practice, Anna Best invites other people to work with her, and on her behalf, often in the context of public commissions. Her work takes many forms - events, videos, publications, websites - and the subjects and ideas are often disguised as something else. Road for the Future demonstrates this process. It is a collaborative art project, based at Powerstock Common, which through commissioning new art works, schools workshops and discussions is looking at our ideas about the countryside, transport and access, and contributes to the debate about its future sustainability.
