Peggy Ramsay was the most celebrated play agent of her time - eccentric, witty, intimidating and inspiring. Peggy’s clients included dramatists as famous and diverse as Joe Orton, Caryl Churchill, Christopher Hampton, Henry Livings, Stephen Poliakoff, Edward Bond, Alan Ayckbourn and, for 30 years, Alan Plater. Peggy for you represents a totally imaginary day in the working life of the extraordinary Peggy Ramsay in the late 1960’s. Alan Plater says that some of the situations in the play might not have happened and some might have but if they had happened, it would have been over a twenty year period. This witty, glorious and wry comedy highlights Peggy’s idiosyncratic views on life, relationships and playwrights.
