The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
This masterpiece is probably the most famous of all comedies and revolves wittily around the most ingenious case of manufactured mistaken identity ever put into a play. It is a classic comedy of manners in which two flippant young men, in order to impress their young ladies, both pretend that their names are “Ernest,” because the ladies believe the name confers magical qualities on the possessor. Lady Bracknell is most definitely not impressed.
