Harborough Coffee Concerts - In Search of Lost Time
The mesmerising sonorities of the oboe and cor anglais are presented in this concert
featuring Victoria Brawn. Maurice Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin is a masterly
evocation of Baroque elegance and also serves as a memorial to friends lost
between 1914 and 1917, while his Pavane pour une Infante Défunte pays tribute to
the courtly dance of an imaginary Spanish princess. Ravel praised the young
composer Jean Francaix for his 'gift of curiosity' and in his quartet for cor angla
