Peter and the Wolf/Carnival of the Animals Cusion concert
Glynn Butt (piano), Stephen Drew (narrator) and orchestra conducted by Christopher Fletcher-Campbell perform Prokofiev's Peter & the Wolf. Sergei Prokofiev was commissioned by the Central Children's Theatre in Moscow to write a new musical symphony for children. Each character in the story has a particular instrument and theme. Peter is heralded by the strings, the wolf by French horns. The piece is about 25 minutes long.
