Bassenthwaite Festival
The last of three concerts of this friendly annual festival of Baroque music, given by Cumbrian chamber group, Ensemble Buxtehude, directed by David Gibbs. Airs and suites by Purcell and his contemporaries, for solo voices, violin and continuo. Beautiful music, excellent friendly musicians, gorgeous views from this lovely little historic church by the Lake, wonderful interval refreshments – ‘a jewel of Lakeland!’
