Explore Bersham Ironworks
Bersham Ironworks was established in the early Eighteenth Century and worked until 1812. From 1763 under John ’Iron Mad’ Wilkinson the ironworks became internationally famous for the manufacture of iron cannon and steam engine cylinders. What to expect: Self-guided tours and on-site interpretation of the archaeological remains. Coming soon: Guided tours including the Mill building (Please enquire in advance for days/times of guided tours). Bersham Ironworks is open: 31 March - 04 Nov 2012. The talented members of the BMFA will be in the Plassey Tea Garden during 2012 season demonstrating flying their fantastic range of model aircraft and also offering anyone over the age of 8yrs the chance to fly an actual model aircraft under their supervision. * Please note you will be required to pass a certain level on the flight simulator which is provided on the day. more

Woodland Walks with RSPB
What are you doing over the Half Term holiday? Why not come along to The Plassey on Saturday 28th, for a day of discovering nature and wildlife with our fantastic ‘Woodland and Birdsong Walks.’ Find us in the Tea garden. RSPB’s knowledgeable staff will be on hand to guide you around the woodland and see what wonderful wildlife can be found hidden there. After your walk, why not stay for a bit and have a go at making beautiful Dragonflies or get involved in a great game of ‘Woodland Bingo.’ The Walks will start at 11am and 2pm. Each walk lasts about an hour, at a very easy pace. Binoculars are available for people to borrow during the walks. Suitable for all the family. On our last walk we saw - Pied Wagtails, Chaffinch, Nuthatch, Chiffchaff, Dunnock, Tit, Canada Goose, Great-spotted Woodpecker, Wren, Starlings and many more birds. Join us and see what you can spot. Give us your support and see how you can enjoy wildlife this Spring! more

Woodland Walks with RSPB
What are you doing this week? Join us at Coed Llandegla for a day of fun guided walks at Coed Llandegla. Guided walks at 10.30 and 2.30, information stand all day with woodland bingo. Walks suitable for all the family and dragonfly making and woodland bingo at the stand all day. The walks will be for up to an hour and a half (parents need to bear this in mind as it may be a bit long for younger children, but we will try to tailor the walks to suit the participants), learning about how the forest is managed for wildlife and hopefully seeing some of the birds there too. Binoculars available to borrow. more
