Tonight’s programme includes works by Purcell, Gabriel Jackson, John Rutter, Tim Garland and Eric Whitacre. The famous trio and outstanding choir join forces for an arrangement of Allegri’s ’Miserere Mei’, and the world première of ’A Dance To The Music Of Time’, in the presence of its composer, Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, and lyricist, his sister, the poet M.R. Peacocke. more

Jean Kelly (harp)
Jean Kelly, who hails from County Cork in Ireland, plays classical, folk, medieval and wire strung harps. In her eclectic career she has played with the Chieftains, Katie Melua, James Galway and the Locrian Ensemble. Her programme will include music by Scarlatti, Fauré, Piazzolla and Jean’s own arrangements of Irish airs and dances. more

The Art and Film Music of Richard Rodney Bennett
After a brief interview with the Swaledale Festival’s Artist in Residence about his career as a film composer, there will be a screening of The Return of the Soldier for which he wrote the score (1983, 90 mins, PG). We then move to the Mezzanine Gallery for an exclusive preview of an exhibition of Sir Richard’s strikingly colourful collages. Wine and soft drinks will be served. more

Some scintillating close-harmony singing and Paul Drayton’s amusing new commission ’Monarchs of England’ will provide the icing for this spectacular Royal cake! more

European Union Chamber Orchestra
The EUCO was formed in 1981 with players from the member states of the European Union. The Orchestra, which lays an emphasis on giving unique opportunities and experience to young musicians at the outset of their careers, has performed in 73 countries. Tonight’s programme (Bach, Mozart, Tchakovsky) features the strings in four gems from the chamber orchestra repertoire. more
