The one completed movement of Schubert’s unfinished quartet D703 is the haunting centrepiece to this programme which opens with a wonderful example of Haydn’s genius for the medium. The concert ends with Beethoven’s Op.18 No.4, which abounds in contrasts of mood as much as any of the composer’s early quartets. This is the final concert of ’Magginis in.. more

Holme Hale Hall - Open Garden for NGS
The garden is noted for its spring display of over 5000 tulips, historic wisteria plus mid and late summer flowering. Contemporary walled kitchen garden and front garden designed and planted in 2000 by Chelsea winner Arne Maynard. The garden incorporates large herbaceous borders, trained fruit, vegetables and traditional greenhouse. Open:Suns 27 May; 8 July (11-5). more
