Gary Dorking: Paintings revealed.
Gary Dorking: Paintings revealed. Despite being ‘obsessively creative’ the work that Gary Dorking has always taken most seriously, has virtually not seen light of day; rarely exhibited and certainly not in the last fifteen years. The exhibition promises to be a retrospective, with new some new, large works, including a few pieces that you will not find on the website “I’m saving the big ones for the exhibition”. Each of these larger canvasses has taken many months to produce. The work has surreal overtones, often taking as their driving force this notion: “Suppose the planet had evolved in order to express, rather than being formed by the laws of physics”. EODS Productions have re-imaged this timeless musical with especially designed sets, quirky costumes, exciting choreography, inventive direction and music with a hint of a twist featuring the iconic numbers ’Luck Be A Lady’, ’If I Were A Bell’ and of course ’Sit Down You’re Rockin The Boat’. Considered to be the perfect musical, it soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces vivid characters: Sarah Brown, the upright mission doll out to reform the evildoers of Time Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high rolling gambler who woos her on a bet; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer who has been engaged for14 years to her devoted fiance Nathan Detroit, who is desperate to find a spot for his floating crap game. Last of the "Vanilla Nudes" Philomena Harmsworth
The intensity of drawing anything repeatedly for a sustained length of time goes beyond an exercise and becomes a very involving experience. In the past engineers would draw mechanical items in order to understand them – to know something properly is to draw it. The process of drawing can be likened to listening intensely to a piece of music. Just as a song moves through different stages, drawing can feel like each moment of the experience is being relayed onto paper as a picture. Looking at all these images together, as a collection they have the sense of an animated figure. They are expressing the mood of a prolonged and exciting period of drawing. The hugely broad variety of female models have resulted in these nudes covering most aspects of femininity. more

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"We used it to promote a one day open day and it turned out to be the most effective way of getting visitors; slightly over 1/3 rd came through your site, 1/3 from posters and flyers and rather less than 1/3 from the £1,000 of local press ads we paid for!." - The Midland Gliding Cub.
"Our event was a success due in no small part to your inclusion of it and the fact that yours was the first entry in an internet search for the title of the exhibition. The days of chasing after printed media coverage are over. Where Can We Go gave us excellent coverage and and we would be happy to recommend your service to organisations large and small." - Jock, Herald Events.
