Art in Venice: Titian to Canaletto
16th century Venice provided unique circumstances for exploitation by such great artists as Bellini, Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese, who used light and colour to produce dramatic paintings. A relative decline in 17th century was followed by a revival led by Tiepolo, Canaletto and Guardi.
