Most of David Laing’s large woodcuts take their starting point in images, lost landscapes, romantic fragments of prints and paintings of the past. They are then redrawn, manipulated, re-invented and pulled into a real present; low tech in a high tech digital age. David Laing studied painting and printmaking at Hornsey College of Art, The Royal College of Art and at the Ecole des Beaux Art, Paris.
