Talk: Art/Work: Photography in the Age of Communicative Capitalism

Dr Benedict Burbridge While political and economic issues are addressed frequently in works by contemporary artists, it remains rare for art to explore the political and economic conditions of its own production, distribution and consumption. Dr Burbridge, Lecturer in Art History at the University of Sussex asks, what is there to stop the questions that artists pose of neoliberal capitalism outside the art world from rebounding on the institutions of art?
