The Archaeology of Family History
Talk by Dr Peter Marsden
Peter Marsden will enlighten the Friends and guests about the link of DNA in local families to the Norse Vikings. The Vikings arrived on the shores of Lancashire from Dublin in the 10th Century and travelled on ancient routes through Pendle and the Pennines. He will track their story of conquest and settlement and another of their lasting legacies – that of local place names.
