Cartmel Priory Gatehouse
Heritage Open Day: The Gatehouse in Cartmel was built in the 1330's in response to a Scottish raid that reached as far south as the Furness peninsula. Along with a curtain wall it acted as a deterrent to any other groups of raiders thinking of attacking the Priory.
