Wheatley Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Four adjoining gardens in the historic coaching village of Wheatley. Catchmole Cottage garden has been developed over 30 yrs to provide sanctuary for wildlife, birds, insects and slow-worms. Surrounded by ancient walls and high shrubs the garden is a frost pocket so is planted with hardy perennials, shrubs and ferns. Breach House Garden has an established main area with extensive shrubs and perennials, a more contemporary reflective space and a wild meadow with ponds. The Studio, cottage style walled garden developed from previous farmyard. Herbaceous borders, climbing roses and clematis, shrubs, vegetable plot and fruit trees. The Manor House is a 1½ acre garden surrounding an Elizabethan manor house (not open).
