'I did think I did see all Heaven before me' wrote Handel as he finished Messiah. It's not hard to hear why. Inside its biblical stories and reflections on redemption and love, Messiah contains some of the most moving music ever composed - as touching as it is universal. For this seasonal performance in the atmospheric surroundings of the Sheldonian Theatre, Marios Papadopoulos and the Orchestra are joined by first-rate vocal soloists and the virile, gleaming voices of the Schola Cantorum of Oxford. Among many alternatives, this is one Christmas concert not to miss.
Event time: 7:30pm
The concert is scheduled to end at 10 pm.
