The Lewis and Louisa Creed Rag Rug Exhibition at Ravenscar
Lewis and Louisa Creed are a husband and wife team who have been making rag rugs for over 30 years. Their work was originally inspired by the tradition in the North East of England where scraps of fabric from textile mills were used to make mats for the cottages and farmhouses. The style of the rugs in this exhibition, however, has departed from the old tradition, and Lewis and Louisa hook recycled clothing through hessian to make pictorial wall-hangings.
11.00 am - 4.00 pm daily. Free admission. Light refreshments available.
