Songs of Love and Nonsense-a concert by the Sitwell Singers

For the closing concert of this season we offer a programme which may literally be described as ‘From the Sublime to the Ridiculous’.

The choir will be singing Brahms' (Sublime) Liebeslieder Walzer, setting of love poems by Georg Friedrich Daumer, and the Op 69 Sieben Lieder, which sets love songs from Des Knaben Wunderhorn and Der Jungbrunnen (the Fountain of youth), two well- known German romantic texts.
