Monthly Meeting, Martlesham Heath Aviation Soc. Fri. 1st March 2024
On Friday 1st March, at 7:30pm we have another evening by
The Martlesham Heath Aviation Society.
Our next talk on Friday 1st March 2024 at 7:30pm. is called “The Kings and Giants of Rendlesham Forest”… when Bruce Macpherson presents a fascinating insight into his career and adventures at RAF Woodbridge in the 1980’s as part of the United States Airforce 67th Air Rescue and Recovery Section – (that was originally set up to recover American Astronauts after splashing down following Space missions) – but it proved its worth.
many Locals will probably remember the huge Jolly Green Giant Helicopter that was often see flying in the Ipswich area. This helicopter - with a C130 Hercules, acting as a Flying Tanker- enabled the helicopter to do Search and Rescue operations way out into the Atlantic and elsewhere
