Belper Unitarian Chapel

Heritage Open Day: The Chapel will be open for visitors to explore our beautiful historic building with Strutt Family burial vaults. We are the oldest place of worship which has been in continuous use in Belper since being built. This chapel is part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site and was built in 1778 by Jedediah Strutt as part of the infrastructure to the housing he built for workers in his mills. Limited access will be available to the Strutt family burial vault.
