SAM CARTER plays FOLK at the FALCON, BROMYARD
EXCLUSIVE 'FIRST' BRINGS WORLD-RENOWNED SAM CARTER to BROMYARD'S FOLK at the FALCON
Midlands-born Sam Carter comes to Bromyard's Folk at the Falcon on Friday 8th October (7.30pm start) for what promises to be a stunning live concert, supported by favourite local band the foot-tapping Cherrystones.
Sam comes to Bromyard as part of a month-long UK national tour. Folk at the Falcon are proud to be one of only two Tour venues in the whole of the West Midlands -- and even prouder to be the first of them! For those who don't know Sam's recent work, click on: youtu.be/bQdPWGVeU48
The Tour gives the songs of Sam's self-penned album Home Waters their first live outing since release. That CD came out in May 2020, though the attached Tour had to be postponed for Covid. More recently, a specially-assembled Home Waters String Quartet joined Sam to record a second CD Home Waters In Concert, which premiered online on 24th September. The original album brought lockdown solace to many and was heralded as 'an album full of quiet pleasures by a musician at the top of his game' (R2 Magazine).
Sam Carter is a highly-regarded guitarist and songwriter, renowned by many as 'the finest English-style fingerpicking guitarist of his generation' (Jon Boden). Over the past fifteen years, Sam has toured the world, won a BBC Folk Award and made appearances on national TV, including a spellbinding performance on Later… with Jools Holland. Sam has recorded and performed with some of folk’s leading lights, including Richard Thompson, Eliza Carthy, Martin Simpson and Nancy Kerr.
£10. Early booking highly recommended for this exceptional artist. Doors open 7pm (UK time) for event start at 7.30pm. Running time about 2 hours (including short interval)
