Chepstow Walking Festival
It’s back! We know we’ve been missed by all the enquiries we’ve received and what better way to celebrate than to join one of the guided walks on offer during the Chepstow Walking Festival exploring the beautiful area of the Lower Wye Valley and beyond in all its’ Autumn glory. There are plenty of walks to tempt you, encompassing both sides of the border with a mix of much loved favourites and newly devised walks showcasing the rich history and beautiful landscape which we think is hard to beat.
The walking festival provides an opportunity to reunite with friends or if you are new to walking as a pastime, meet other like minded people and learn a new route to discover those hidden and not so hidden gems with the experience of an experienced local Walk Leader. Dogs to are welcome on some walks, keeping away from livestock as much as possible and difficult stiles to a minimum.
The walks vary in length from a stroll to a challenging walk devised by the Long Distance Walking Association that really stretches your legs. And there is plenty of choice for those that prefer a gentler pace.
As always not only do we have our local friendly Walk Leaders and historians but professionals in their field for the more specialized walks. This year both the Offa’s Dyke National Trail and the Wye Valley AONB are celebrating their 50th anniversary and we very pleased that Rob Dingle Trail Officer for the Path and Sarah Sawyer Community Officer for the AONB will be leading walks imparting their vast knowledge and some secrets!
