Stunning professional female vocal consort Papagena presents 'Still Moving', their new programme of medieval, folk, classical and contemporary music of hope, renewal and bittersweet contrasts.
The programme will feature works by James MacMillan, Kate Rusby, Orazio Vecchi (a new realisation of his Stabat Mater Dolorosa for female voices), Lady Maisery, John Duggan (new commission of a Stabat Mater Speciosa), Janet Wheeler, Alec Roth, Caroline Shaw, the 13th century Las Hulegas Codex and Sandy Denny. 6 world premieres will be featured, and the singers will be accompanied by Cathy Lamb (keyboards) and Lynda Sayce (lute/flute).
Papagena is the foremost female vocal consort in the UK, has appeared many times on BBC Radio 3 and 4 (including Woman's Hour) and has 2 chart topping albums to its name. The group has performed to great acclaim throughout the UK including at the Edinburgh and Three Choirs Festivals.
