Heritage Open Day: 14th century scheme of wall paintings in the chancel The chancel contains a world renowned scheme of wall paintings from the first quarter of the 14th century, limewashed over at the Reformation and rediscovered in 1858. More recently in 2015/6 the paintings were completely cleaned and conserved, so now look better than they have for a few years.
