Heather Redfearn and Eileen Guppy - clarinet and keyboard

The Middlewich and District Concerts Society is delighted to welcome the return of Heather Gordon-Redfearn and Eileen Guppy. They came last year and made quite an impact. With these two ladies in concert we can expect some fireworks, of a musical kind of course! Both are seasoned professionals and able to perform on a range of instruments. However, for this concert Heather is playing the clarinet, with Eileen accompanying her on a keyboard.

As you might expect their programme is quite diverse, ranging from distinctly classical to jazz standards. They will be starting with the Canzonetta by Gabriel Pierné, followed by the Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Saint-Saëns. Eileen has made an arrangement of Body and Soul by John Green. The first half concludes with Hommage à Manuel de Falla by Béla Kovács and some of the Time Pieces for Clarinet and Piano by Robert Muczynski.

No doubt many of you will remember the delightful music by Paul Reade which accompanied The Victorian Kitchen Garden series on television (1987) and here is an opportunity to hear some of it again. There will be a selection of music by Benny Goodman, more arrangements by Eileen and Béla Kovács, some music by Claude Debussy (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair) and Arabesques by Paul JeanJean. Something for everyone!
