The herb garden was started by herbs that sprang up along the base of the Old Medicine House fifty years ago, in the spring after the house was rescued and rebuilt in Alan Garner’s garden. The herbs now grow in formal beds tended by Barbara Depledge.
She will guide you round the beds and talk about how to grow and preserve edible flower herbs. You will plant up a container of herbs to take home; discover how to cook with edible flowers; and take home recipes for food and drinks.
Come prepared for practical garden work. Bring garden gloves and a trowel.
There will be a buffet lunch with edible flower dishes.
