The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration

This fun packed extravaganza starts at 10am with over 24 market stalls and community stalls with plenty to choose from including arts and crafts, clothes and accessories, handmade toys, wood crafts, jewellery, garden plants to hot food, barbecue and the Market Kitchen providing refreshments, cake, tea and scones with jam and cream.

There is a craft table where you can make your own crown and enter your design on the official Platinum Jubilee Celebration web site.

Competition wise there is the Fancy Dress Competition for 16 years and under and we are pleased to announce that the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Bristol will be judging this competition around 11.45am followed by the cutting of the Platinum Jubilee Cake.

The second competition of the day is the Cake Decorating Competition for the adults, after all why should the children have all the fun?! This will be held at 1pm where competitors will decorate their own large muffin their own way. All ingredients are being provided but it could get a bit messy being a timed activity but fun too!

Entertainment wise the “Gospel Generation Community Choir” will give a 20 minute performance around 11.15am and the “Quinn School Of Irish Dance, Bristol” will give a 20 minute mixed performance of soft shoe and hard shoe Irish dancing featuring dancers from 5 years old to adults. This will take place around 1.45pm. Meanwhile Avonmouth Sea Cadets will give a first aid demonstration at 10:40am.

St. Bernard's Catholic Primary School and their PTA have joined forces with this event and will be providing a tombola and games – including a coconut shy, beat the goalie and splat the rat! - in the school playground.

There is also the Queen’s Portrait art display by Twyford Art Group and the children from St. Bernard’s School as well as a collection of photos spanning royal related parties and events 1953 to current day for the photo display.
