Poppy’s Playhouse

Poppy's Playhouse

Prepare to be teased, titillated, and a little bit tormented by our riveting roster of Sideshow, Gorelesque, and Dark Cabaret! Join us for an evening of tongue-in-cheek chaos and bloodthirsty campness that’s terrific and terrible in all the best ways.

Featuring:

Lou Safire
Born somewhere between London and Hell, international vaudevillian Lou Safire has been strutting their stuff across the world since 2008 as well as television and film appearances. Voted in The Top 50 Burlesque performers in the world and top 10 in the UK 2015 by 21st Century Burlesque 2015 and 2016. Lou is trained in many aspects of dance, bringing this to the stage through his routines involving striptease and fan dancing.

Mariana Trench
Mariana Trench has been performing since 2018, when they took off like a rocket! This stunning queen who has musical theatre running through her veins, is a regular of the Bristol scene and is a talented singer, comedian, and seamstress. Having recently returned from the Austin International Drag Festival where she was a featured artist, Mariana can’t wait to share her talents with Oxford.

Wanda Von Weird
Bloody Burlesquer, Peculiar Peeler and All-Around Delightful Weirdo, Wanda is guaranteed to be your new favourite Show-Ghoul. Fresh from her win of both the Audience and Judge’s Choice awards at Hebden Bridge Burlesque Festival’s Legend in the Making 2022 competition, Wanda has been stealing hearts all across the UK and Ireland with her gorgeously gory brand of burlesque – and she’s got a jar of formaldehyde just waiting for yours!

Hosted by the deliciously deviant and devilishly delightful Dr Poppy Problem, Poppy’s Playhouse will bring you the perfect tonic to those dreary autumn doldrums.

The Doctor will see you now.
