Lakeland Maze Farm Park
Have a right royal day out at the Lakeland Maze Farm Park, where the fun includes the chance to enjoy the UK’s first Maize Quest Super Mega Ride n Slide, promising the slide of your life. The Lake District-based family farm attraction, located near Kendal, is ready to thrill visitors with its maize maze, boasting a special Jubilee-year theme to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne.
The main maze, cut out of a 6-8-foot-high maize crop stretching over eight acres, is themed around a postage stamp-style image of the Queen’s head. Meanwhile, she has a trusted pal at her side, as the mini maze is styled in the shape of a royal Corgi. Visitors will typically take 60-90 minutes to find their way out of the larger maze and 15-25 minutes to exit the smaller. Exit routes from the large maze are available if needed but all the fun lies in getting lost within the twists and turns of the puzzle cut out of the giant crop.
2022 has also seen the introduction of the UK’s first Maize Quest Super Mega Ride n Slide, offering children the opportunity to whiz down a 150-foot-long slide in an inflatable ring. With a doubling in size of indoor soft play areas, two Air Bouncers (super-giant trampolines), a fire engine on which to act out firefighter dreams, outdoor and indoor go karts, coin-operated quad bikes, giant draughts, bouncy castle, indoor panel maze, climbing wall and playground, there’s masses to do, even before you reach the animal barn.
Families can meet characters such as Pippin the Boer and British Alpine goat, Doris the hand-reared sheep and Fanta the llama, as well as all of their alpaca, donkey, small rodent, rabbit, ferret, cow and chicken friends. Tractor-and-trailer rides tour the working farm, showing families the lie of the land, whilst a sunflower field is currently growing a crop that families can pick later in the season. With the opportunity to buy food on site and even enjoy a picnic in the grounds, there’s a whole day’s fun to be had.
The Lakeland Maze Farm Park is open daily to September 11, 2022 and then at weekends to October 30, 2022. Head to www.lakelandmaze.co.uk to buy tickets.
