Royal Academy of Music Harp Ensemble

Pinner Music Festival's first lunchtime concert of the week is given by pupils at the Royal Academy of Music.

Royal Academy Harp Ensemble was formed in 1993 by Skaila Kanga to provide opportunities to play in a harp ‘orchestra’ and to perform newly commissioned works. Their success has included performances at Wigmore Hall, Mansion House, Senate House, King’s Place, St Martin in the Fields, St James Piccadilly, Southwark Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds Festival, Cardiff Millennium Centre, World Harp Congress Cardiff.

The ensemble for this concert is drawn from undergraduate and Masters students from Wales, Hong Kong, Scotland and USA. Individually they have all won prestigious prizes.

The concert includes a world premiere of Vocalise arranged by Gavin Greenaway, alongside works by Tchaikovsky, Delibes, and Saint-Saens.
