Probus Club of Worksop present Build a Boat, a talk by Andrew Beard
“Andrew is a retired chartered accountant and has been a member of Sheffield U3ALocal History, and Military History, Groups for several years. Following over 60 years sailing, his latest offering is “Build a boat and sail away?” The talk explains why and how he decided to build a 31 foot catamaran based on just 16 pages of plans; what he should have done versus what he actually did, and some of the adventures he had with her after four and a half years of toil! This is a very personal but amusing talk about despair, over optimism and eventual achievement.”
Worksop Probus Club for men are a group of about 30 chaps, all retired or no longer working full time. We get together every two weeks for a chat and a coffee followed by a presentation by an invited speaker.

Our meetings are informal, and our speakers entertain us with a varied programme of interesting topics.
We meet between 10:00am and 12:00 every second Friday during our season of meetings at
St John’s Parish Centre, Carlton in Lindrick, S81 9EG.
We meet for lunch with partners in the autumn and spring, and have a Christmas lunch.
We have occasional days away visiting places of interest chosen by our members, with a longer outing in the Summer.
Our Bowls section meet weekly
Our Club meetings are a rendezvous for a coffee and a get together. Time for sociability and an opportunity to keep minds active and make new friends
