Steppingley Village Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Steppingley is a picturesque Bedfordshire village on the Greensand Ridge, close to Ampthill, Flitwick and Woburn. Although a few older buildings survive, most of Steppingley was built by the 7th Duke of Bedford between 1840 and 1872. 4 gardens in the village offer an interesting mix of planting styles and design to inc pretty courtyards, cottage garden style perennial borders, ponds, a Victorian well, glasshouses, an orchard, vegetable gardens, a herb garden, wildlife havens and country views. Livestock inc chickens, ducks and fish.
