South Notts Local Group Talk: The Rarity Garden with Richard Baines

Join Richard as he chronicles the numerous rare species he witnessed in his small garden in Flamborough.

About the event
The Great White Cape of Flamborough, a journal of wild obsession.

Imagine staring out of your window as a rare bird or butterfly lands in your garden, and for a moment, time stands still. If such sightings are rare, you have a Rarity Garden. During his ten years in Flamborough, Richard was fortunate enough to witness many unusual species in his small garden, and his journals chronicle these moments. But his Rarity Garden offered him much more in return.

Richard is a professional ecologist and director of Yorkshire Coast Nature, who, for the past 25 years, has undertaken ecological surveys in the UK and overseas, and led birding tours across the globe.
