Brahms German Requiem

The main piece in this concert, Johannes Brahms' 'Ein Deutsches Requiem', is an intensely personal and humane work: influenced, it is believed, by the death of Brahms' own mother. We shall be performing a version for chamber orchestra and piano scored by the well-known composer and arranger Iain Farrington, who has performed with the Waverley Singers many times in the past. Our Soprano soloist is rising young star Henna Mun, who sang with us in the Mozart Mass in C Minor in April 2022, and we welcome for the first time the accomplished baritone John Lofthouse. We also look forward to performing again with the Chameleon Arts Ensemble.

The concert will also feature six part songs by Mendelssohn, 'Sechs Sprüche', and other songs (details to follow).

The choir is pleased to be able to support The Therapy Garden charity, for which a collection will be taken at the end of the concert.
Saturday 25 March 2023 1930-2130

Tickets (£15 in advance or £17 on the door, Under 16s £5; complimentary seats for accompanied minors also available - conditions apply) can be purchased in advance via the choir’s website.
