A FREE Guided Walk to look for Butterflies at Bernwood Meadows BBOWT n
Join the Upper Thames Branch of Butterfly Conservation on a trip to BBOWT's Bernwood Meadows Nature Reserve: these traditional hay meadows brimming with wildflowers and insects are a magnificent sight in spring and early summer. Over 100 species of flowering plants and some special butterflies can be found here.
We will walk across from the FE car park, looking for butterflies, and other wildlife, on the way. When we reach the meadows we will spend some time searching the hedgerows for a special butterfly. Target species: Black Hairstreak and other butterflies of the meadows and woods.
Accessibility - mostly level ground, can be soft after rain. The track we will walk on is rutted and can be muddy.
Meet at the FE Oakley Wood car park.
