Identifying Dragonfly Exuviae
Join Dave Goddard who is a national expert in invertebrates for a course on Dragonfly exuviae ID. These fascinating exoskeletons of dragonflies can be spotted near ponds around Attenborough Nature Reserve.
This course will start with an introduction to exuviae in the conference room with specimens and how to use keys to identify them. After lunch you will explore the reserve to study emergent vegetation and learn to spot exuviae emerging in the field.
Dave will guide you through exuviae specimens using hand lenses and microscopes. The course will use keys to identify different species. You will be able to buy the keys on the day from the British Dragonfly Society.
The course includes a buffet lunch and refreshments. Please let us know any dietary requirements when you book so we can inform the catering team.
