Cherry Tree Arboretum was created in 2006 on 50 acres of unspoilt, lightly-farmed pastureland scattered with mature oaks by John and Liz Ravenscroft. It is located on a hilly area overlooking the Cheshire plain with views to the Pennines to the north, the Peckforton Hills to the north west and the Breiddons to the south west on the Welsh borders.
The garden is a showcase of specimen trees including magnolias, lilacs, deciduous azaleas and North American oaks amongst a wide variety of other specimens. Features include areas given over to peonies, and dahlias and the arboretum is managed through a series of trails and paths between meadows and native wildflowers. Many of the trees are rare and unusual.
