What better place to learn the principles of landscape photography than the natural beauty of the London Wetland Centre!
In this workshop we look at how to arrange the elements in a frame to translate a beautiful scene that catches your eye into a well-balanced and impactful photograph. Composition is key and we explore a range of compositional guidelines and techniques to bring your landscape images to life.
Often, we gaze at an image because something about the light draws our eye. Both the time of day and the nature of the light play a significant role. We examine different light situations as well as the role of colour temperature and white balance in landscape photography. Good technical skills are vital and we will run through a range of camera settings to help you achieve great results.
We examine focal length in this workshop and the various merits of using different focal lengths to achieve your objectives. We’ll also touch on equipment and accessories of interest in this genre of photography.
This workshop is ideal for all levels of photography. Each day is a mixture of classroom learning with outdoor hands-on practice and plenty of time for 1-2-1 tuition. Content details will be tailored to the specific interests and experience of the course attendees on the day.
Please bring your camera with fully charged batteries and formatted memory cards. A standard mid-range zoom lens is perfect and if you have a longer lens as well bring it along. Feel free to bring any further equipment you have if you wish to experiment, such as filters and a method of stabilising your camera.
