Gedling Climate Change Group's Climate and Nature Convention 2023
Concerned about the climate & nature crisis? Want to have your say? Come along for guest speakers, stalls & honest discussions!
Gedling Climate Change Group, along with our partner organisations, will be hosting a Climate and Nature Convention on 18th November 2023 at The Civic Centre, Arnot Hill Park, Arnold, Notts, NG5 6LU.
This will be a day where everyone will have their chance to ask questions, raise concerns and learn about what we can do to address the climate and nature emergency. This is a great opportunity for local people to really have their say and we will feed it directly back to our local council.
There will be guest speakers throughout the day along with facilitated group discussions, stalls from organisations that all work with the climate and nature at the heart of what they do and also a screening of a short film.
Please Note - We are asking everyone to bring their own cups and water bottles to the event for the refreshments. There is no food to purchase on site so we also recommend bringing your own lunch. Light refreshments will be available such as tea and coffee.

Confirmed Speaker: Dr Simon Berrow
Here’s a little bit about him to get you feeling as excited to hear him as we are…!
Dr Simon Berrow is a very well respected international lecturer on marine and travels around the world.
He is a university lecturer at GMIT (Galway Mayo Institute of Technology) and is also CEO of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group.
He was on the heritage council as adviser in marine to the Irish Government, resulting in him meeting 1:1 on a number of occasions, Charles Haughey, Prime Minister at the time.
