De Beauvoir Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Five gardens to explore in De Beauvoir, a leafy enclave of Victorian villas near to Islington and Dalston. The area boasts some of Hackneys keenest gardeners and a thriving garden club. New this year is 1 Northchurch Terrace which has a diverse range of potted shrubs, ferns and flowers. 21 Northchurch Terrace is a walled garden with a formal feel and deep borders which have recently been replanted. 72 Mortimer Road is a secluded romantic garden with colourful and wildflower planting. 100 Downham Road features giant echiums, two green roofs and a pond with a miniature Giverny-style bridge. 64 Lawford Road is a small cottage style garden with old-fashioned roses, espaliered apples and scented plants.
