Sweet Pea Season

Easton Walled Gardens is justly famous for its sweet peas. Every year the gardeners raise hundreds of plants over the winter ready for a display in high summer. In late June and early July, visitors to the gardens are invited to wander through the gardens enjoying the classic English flowers. The sweet peas are grown on supports in the vegetable garden and repeated on the southern wall of the old gardens.

The gardeners focus on antique varieties dating back to the nineteenth century right through to modern varieties exclusive to the gardens. The flowers create a beautiful display of pinks, blues, reds, bi colours, white and cream flowers. In the autumn the seeds are harvested and packed into keepsake tins for visitors to buy all year round.

Easton Walled Gardens are 12 acres of 450 year old gardens surrounding the site of an old manor house, English history seems very close and the Cholmeley family have lived and worked here since 1592. Today they invite visitors to experience the gardens and wander through meadows, past borders and roses alive with butterflies and bees.
