Connecting Hearts
Connecting Hearts: The stories behind the gift of human milk
When babies cannot receive their own mother’s milk, donor human milk can be life saving for sick and premature babies. But donor milk can also change the lives of families, donors, and communities. In collaboration with the Human Milk Foundation, come and connect with those involved in receiving, donating and supporting human milk banking services, through the launch of a series of artwork by Leanne Pearce to tell their stories.
The evening will start at 6.30pm with an opportunity to view the paintings and have a drink from the bar. The main event in the auditorium is from 7.30pm – 9pm with further opportunity to view the paintings (Each painting will have an audio recording of its story attached. Please bring ear buds / headphones that work with your mobile phone to listen to these) and talk to speakers afterwards.
Please note that the event will contain images and discussion of topics some viewers might find upsetting such as infant prematurity, baby loss and cancer.
Tickets are free but if you would like to make a donation in support of the work of the Human Milk Foundation you can do so here bit.ly/3U2eSQG
The charity Blood Bikes Wales will also be present on the evening so please feel free to bring your loose change to support their work!
