Bishop Bonner's Cottage Museum

Heritage Open Day: A little gem of a museum housed in Dereham's oldest domestic building, a row of three thatched cottages that survived a town fire in 1679 and a Zeppelin raid in 1915 The museum is home to a wide range of exhibits of local interest. New for 2024, ‘Life in Victorian Dereham’ provides a brief overview of daily life in the town in the mid to late Victorian period.

Where would you buy your hats? How would you advertise for a domestic servant? Where would you send your children to school? How would you find a cure for your ailments?’

Learn more about local Dereham characters, their businesses and trades, as well as the changes that have taken place in society and the town.

Also new for this year is our community art exhibition.
