Heritage Open Day: Stunning stained glass , vibrant colours, fabulous artistry by Barnett of Leith and Hardman of Birmingham, brought to life with the history behind each of our 60 plus windows in our beautiful grade ll listed building on the Heritage at Risk Register. We have over 60 beautiful stained glass windows in the church of Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Michael and a team of very enthusiastic volunteers who have been busy researching the history behind these windows. The church holds many beautiful items dating back to the 15th centuary alabaster reliefs from Jervaulx Abbey and the stained glass dedicated to these reliefs. Come and journey with us through time to discover the history behind each window, when it was installed and who paid for them.
