St Maryâ€™s Congregational Church

Heritage Open Day: Congregational church with George Whitefield connection Originally in St Maryâ€™s Square, the church was relocated to St Maryâ€™s Street following the redevelopment of the city. The building was bought by Selina, Countess of Huntingdon, in 1788 for the Gloucester followers of George Whitefield, the famous 18th Century preacher. Originally called St Maryâ€™s Hall, it then moved to St Maryâ€™s Congregational Hall in 1958.
